A small group of Colombian soldiers appear to have been ambushed by guerrilla fighters while on patrol with a truck in a remote area. The soldiers perished, some with heads split open and emptied of brain matter.
It is not clear whether the ambush was carried out by FARC or ELN. The attack may have involved the use of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
